FIREFIGHTERS RESUSCITATE PET LIZARD
Naples, Florida has some dedicated firefighters. When a heat lamp on a reptile tank fell and started a fire, the fire crew rushed to the home and doused the fire. But three-foot-long Rex, a Savannah Monitor lizard was lifeless in the tank.
But luckily for Rex, Naples Firefighter Travis Wright, who shares his home with lizards, held Rex's mouth open while a paramedic cleared the pet's obstructed airway, then put an oxygen mask designed for domestic animals on his face. Rex came back to life a short time later. Sparky the Fire Dog was unfortunately unable to respond, as he was chasing cars that afternoon.
