SAFETY BELTS FOR ROAD DOGS

Dog who enjoyed "Easy Rider"
Just as a person who doesn't wear a seat belt can be injured further in an accident, an unrestrained pet can escape and be hit by another vehicle, cause another crash, or attack emergency crews trying to help. Enter the Bark Buckle UP,
a restraint for the pet on the road. For more info, check out the Bark Buckle UP here, where you'll even see their solution for the motorcycle-riding pup.
Britain's leading veterinary charity, PDSA, has issued their Top Travel Tips for pets on the road:
- Introduce your pet to the car at an early age so they'll be less nervous traveling as adults.
- Always make sure your pet is secured in a safety harness before you're wheels up.
- Drive steadily — don't break sharply or accelerate too quickly.
- Make regular stops to give your pet a chance to stretch its legs and freshen up.
- Take pets for a walk before the trip to burn off excess energy.
- Never let a dog lean its head out of a window. This could cause their eyes and nose to be damaged by debris, insects or small stones kicked up from the road. There is also a risk that the pet will be injured by a passing vehicle.
