BOLL WEEVIL SAYS "GOTTA HAVE A HOME"... AND GETS ONE

Brook Benton's nemesis, the Boll Weevil
Flower-huggers everywhere want to reduce the amount of herbicides we use. An innovative program by the Missouri Department of Transportation released 2,000 weevils, insects that will eat spotted knapweed, a plant that is overtaking wildflowers in the Ozark National Scenic Riverways. It's called biocontrol, an ingenious idea in which a predator is introduced to eat a pest, like attracting purple martins to eat mosquitos.
