OWL OPTICAL ILLUSION

This amazing photo of the African Scops owl resting on the branch of a camelthorn tree in Namibia shows how uncannily the bird camouflages itself. When resting during the day, the little owl, just 6.5 inches long, is at risk of being attacked by other birds. So by pressing itself against a tree trunk, it blends in perfectly with the color and texture of the bark. But if it fully opens its large, bright orange eyes, its cover will be blown.
